Josh Banks, Alfaparf Milano’s International Guest Artist, has been a noted and well-respected figure on the international beauty scene for over two decades.  Josh began his illustrious career in his native Scotland, as both a hairdresser and college lecturer, specializing in further education. 

 

Upon relocating to Toronto, Josh managed one of the city’s most creative and prestigious salons and became involved in the Canadian film and TV industry, working on set with many noted actresses and models. His meticulous work quickly caught the eye of a large beauty manufacturer and soon Josh began doing education and platform work across North America.

Josh’s career took him to New York, where he continued his stage and education work, before ultimately moving to Los Angeles in 2000.

 

Josh continues to work behind the chair in Santa Monica, creating specialized looks for discerning – and beautiful - clients.  His desire is to continue enjoying and expanding his craft while educating others on the latest breakthrough innovations and trends within the industry.  

 

His work has appeared in the international versions of Hello Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, BehindtheChair, Modern Salon, American Salon and others, as well on celebrity clients including Julia Snigir, Lisa Vanderpump and Beth Behr.  As part of his role at Alfaparf Milano, he travels the globe, working and inspiring stylists and colorists of all levels.

 

Whether it is long, medium, short, wavy, straight or curly hair, Josh’s philosophy is to create individuality for each client while pushing his limits to grow as both an artist and person.
